His work is now built into the fabric of Barcelona, but this is where the city's most famous architect really started: the Palau Güell in the El Raval district, Gaudi's early architectural masterpiece, was completed in 1888 and is restrained by Gaudi standards yet, nonetheless, is a house like no other. Explore it this Friday with a guided tour (in English, included in the ticket price) at 10.30am.
